5 offensive newcomers who could make instant impacts

The Kalen DeBoer era of Alabama football is off and rolling as the Crimson Tide continues spring practice from Tuscaloosa. In less than a month, the spring activities will commence with the annual A-Day Game from inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The roster turnover for the Tide has been well-documented this offseason and in some ways, exaggerated, but without a doubt, Coach DeBoer and his staff will have to rely on some new faces to impact each side of the ball in 2024.

Below is a list of five offensive players who I believe will begin to make their impacts felt this spring and create some buzz entering the upcoming college football season.

The former Washington receiver followed Coach DeBoer from Seattle to Tuscaloosa and filled a massive void left in the receiver room by Jermaine Burton and Isaiah Bond. Simply put, Bernard is a playmaker. Bernard made seven starts in 2023 for the Huskies. He finished as the fifth-leading receiver with 419 yards and two touchdowns on 34 receptions. Bernard added a couple of rushing scores while also contributing in the return game. With his experience in the system, expect Bernard to make an impact early and often.

Like Bernard, Brailsford followed Coach DeBoer to Alabama and filled one of the biggest position needs this Alabama team had this offseason. 2023 was a rough season at center for the Tide and Brailsford is widely regarded as one of the top centers in the country. While he will have to compete for the starting spot with the likes of James Brockermeyer, Brailsford could almost be penciled in alongside the guard duo of Tyler Booker and Jaeden Roberts.
