Timeline of Kadyn Proctor’s journey back to Alabama

I am not sure we have ever seen a story quite as complicated and surprising as the news of the apparent return of Kadyn Proctor to the Alabama football program.

I use the word surprising when, in truth, nothing that happens in the modern era of college football should come as a shock to any of us. The rules are vague, the players are basically free agents at all times, and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. We are where we are because the adults in the room failed to implement appropriate protocols ahead of time, but that is a soapbox for another day and another story.

So how did we get here? What does the Kadyn Proctor timeline look like? Well, I am glad you asked.

June 2022: Proctor commits to Iowa

In June of 2022, Proctor committed to his home-state school and became the highest-rated Iowa Hawkeye football commitment of all time.

December 2022: Proctor flips from Iowa to Alabama

Two days before signing day, Proctor flipped from the Hawkeyes to Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide, helping the Tide secure the No. 1 class.

2023 Season: Proctor starts at left tackle for Alabama

Proctor started at left tackle for the Crimson Tide as a true freshman and would earn Freshman All-American and All-SEC honors.

January 2024: Proctor enters the portal, transfers to Iowa
