The NFL on Friday announced offseason workout dates for each NFL team.
Here’s a quick rundown on when the offseason workouts will be and what each phase of the offseason includes:
Start date

The 49ers begin their offseason program on April 15. This will kick off Phase One of the offseason.
Phase One

This is a two-week long, off-field only portion of the offseason. Teams are limited to meetings, strength and conditioning workouts, and rehab for injured players.
OTAs

The dates for OTAs are May 20-21, 23, 28-29, 31, and these will kick off Phase Two of the offseason program.
Phase Two

Teams can take the field in Phase Two. Offense and defensive players are allowed to line up across from each other, but there’s no contact allowed (as is the case throughout the offseason program).
Mandatory minicamp

Offseason workouts become mandatory for Phase Three. The dates here are June 4-6.
Phase Three

Things get a little more serious in Phase 3. This is where 7-on-7, 7-on-9 and 11-on-11 drills are allowed per the NFL. There’s still no contact, but this is the closest thing teams will have to real football until training camp.
