2024 Spring Recap: Day 3 of Arizona Football Practice

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Football played its first practice in Arizona Stadium on a sunny Saturday in front of Wildcat supporters.
 
The Wildcats took the field inside Arizona Stadium for a practice for the first time under new Head Coach Brent Brennan. During individual and offense against defense, the Cats displayed their teamwork, communication, and family atmosphere with smiling faces.

Wide receiver Chris Hunter made a highlight reel grab and has had an impressive start to spring camp. Defensive back Emmanuel Karnley made a stellar interception during one-on-ones. 
 
Arizona finishes spring camp on April 27 with the Red vs. Blue Spring Game at 6 p.m. inside Arizona Stadium. The spring game will be available on Pac-12 Network.
 
Defensive Coordinator Duane Akina and linebackers Jacob Manu, Kamuela Ka’aihue, and Taye Brown spoke with the media after practice.

“You get your degree over there and you cross the street and you’re going to get your degree in defensive back play over here.” Akina about communication and building a defense. “I’m big on communication and now they understand the language. I teach from the offensive side of the ball and now they are starting to understand how the defense is built.” – Defensive Coordinator Duane Akina
