Oklahoma Sooners climbing SEC team recruiting rankings

Oklahoma Sooners climbing SEC team recruiting rankings

Recruiting hasn’t been an issue for the Oklahoma Sooners since Brent Venables arrival to Norman in December of 2021. He and his coaching staff have put together three consecutive top-10 classes, even after the 2022 recruiting class was gutted due to the departure of Lincoln Riley.

Between 2023 and 2024, the Sooners brought in four five-star prospects, including three on the defensive side of the ball. Venables has Oklahoma recruiting as good as any school in the new-look SEC not named Georgia or Alabama over the last several years. But the Sooners are working to put themselves in that tier and they just might accomplish that feat in 2025.

And they’re trending toward another top 10 class in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Several of their high-profile targets like Jonah Williams, Michael Fasusi, Nate Roberts, Trystan Haynes, and Da’Saahn Brame are still to announce their decisions, but the Sooners are already in a strong spot, showing they’re capable of recruiting with the best in the SEC.

After receiving a commitment from running back Tory Blaylock, the Sooners are well within the top 10 nationally and sit ahead of Alabama and Georgia. Let’s take a look at how the SEC stacks up in 247Sports team recruiting rankings for 2025.
