Subtractions largely out-weighed additions for the Miami Dolphins during the month of March. Several players left in free agency, but the biggest losses were defensive tackle Christian Wilkins and guard Robert Hunt, leaving the Dolphins in need of more beef in the trenches.
While Miami made several additions to fill the gaps, most experts think the Dolphins will use the No. 21 pick in the 2024 NFL draft to bolster either the offensive or the defensive line. In particular, seven prospects have been paired with the Dolphins up more often than the rest in mock drafts.
With the draft just over three weeks away, these prospects are looking like prime candidates to be the Dolphins’ first pick in April:

Mocks: Danny Kelly (The Ringer), Josh Edwards (CBS Sports), Eric Galko (CBS Sports), Brad Spielberger (PFF), Alyssa Barbieri (Bears Wire), Glenn Erby (Eagles Wire), Jason Kanno (Bucs Wire), Anthony Rizzuti (Panthers Wire), Saivion Mixson (Vikings Wire)
After losing Christian Wilkins to the Raiders in free agency, the Dolphins look to plug gaps in the interior defensive line by drafting Newton here. The former Illinois star is an absolute pocket-wrecker from the inside, using a great first step and tremendous upper-body power to toss aside hapless linemen and get to the quarterback. He’ll provide a much-needed boost at the defensive tackle spot.
