TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats reached the halfway point of spring ball during Day 7 on a sunny afternoon at Tomey Practice Field.
Just over the halfway point of spring, the Wildcats continue to work on refining the details and executing the plays on both offense and defense. The coaching staff reinforced the importance of each player taking care of their body. Including rest and recovery following practice, to make sure they maximize every single opportunity during spring ball.
Defensive Line Coach Joe Seumalo emphasized the attacking mentality of the defensive line and wanting to get into the backfield and apply pressure on the opposing offense. Lineman Ta’ita’i Uiagalelei, Keanu Mailoto, and Dominic Lolesio echoed that message and added it allowed them to play freely and not think about too much while playing football.
Spring practice concludes with the Red vs. Blue Spring Game on April 27 at 6 p.m. inside Arizona Stadium. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Network.
Coach Seumalo, Uiagalelei, Mailoto, and Lolesio talked with the media following practice.
“What myself and Coach Akina and the rest of our staff have done is bring more of an attacking style front. As opposed to sitting there and holding gaps. The only thing that has changed is the mindset. We want to play on their side of the ball.” – Joe Seumalo.
