Football to Hold Open Scrimmage in Washington, D.C.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland football team will hold an open scrimmage on Saturday, April 20 at Frank W. Ballou High School in Washington, D.C., it was announced on Thursday.
 
Fans are welcome to attend this scrimmage, Maryland’s second spring practice being held out in the community. The Terps also held a practice at Morgan State in Baltimore this past Saturday.
 
“It’s so important for us to embrace our community and showcase the Terps brand in D.C.,” said Maryland Head Coach Michael Locksley, who grew up in the southside of Washington D.C. and graduated from Frank W. Ballou High School in 1987. “I want to thank head coach Kenny Brown and the administration at Ballou for welcoming us and allowing me personally the chance to come home. We look forward to not only getting work done on the field, but being able to engage with our community members that are able to come out and support us.”
 
Fans are encouraged to park on the 4th street side of Ballou high school with gates opening at 10:30 a.m. The Terps will hit the field at approximately 10:45 a.m. with the scrimmage getting under way shortly after 11:15 a.m.
