Former A&M QB Johnny Manziel talks life after football on “Undisputed”

For every Aggie fan, outside of those who prefer to only look toward the future and ignore the past, Heisman-winning quarterback and Texas A&M record-setter Johnny Manziel is one of the primary reasons the Aggie football program is where it’s at today, providing nationwide publicity, monetary success, while still impacting A&M’s football recruiting success to this day.

Going through more than we’ll ever truly know, outside of the recent Netflix documentary, “Untold: Johnny Football,” which didn’t quite tell the entire story, Manziel’s trials and tribulations are a lesson to all former athletes to deal with early onset fame, including former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett back in the early 2000s.

During his two seasons with the Maroon & White, Manziel recorded 7,820 passing yards (69% completion percentage), 63 passing touchdowns, and just 22 interceptions. He also rushed for 2,169 yards and 30 scores. Becoming the first freshman and just the second Aggie to win the Heisman, to this day, outside of Lamar Jackson, no one had a more exciting campaign. To this day, Texas A&M’s 11-2 (6-2 SEC) 2012 record has yet to be matched since.

On Wednesday, Manziel appeared on FS1’s “Undisputed” with the always loquacious host Skip Bayless to discuss his career, the 2024 NFL Draft QB class, and how life after football has been so far. Here is the interview split into several parts. Enjoy!
