The first round of the 2024 NFL draft is sure to be filled with plenty of drama with the top-four quarterbacks projected to go early. Teams should be lining up out the door with trade offers in an effort to land a franchise quarterback that could potentially turn them into this year’s version of the Houston Texans.
Unlike most drafts, this draft has three quarterbacks that could easily be considered the No. 1 prospect on the entire board. While Caleb Williams is expected to be the first player taken, both Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels are clearly talented enough to be in that same position. Meanwhile, the J.J. McCarthy love has picked up significantly in the stretch run to draft night.
This mock draft explores multiple trade up scenarios where teams are looking to swing for the fences with big prospect acquisitions, along with teams looking to acquire more draft picks to better fill out their existing rosters.
Here’s how things fell in our latest mock draft:

Nothing has changed here.
The Bears need a quarterback, and Caleb Williams is the projected top pick in the draft. This match makes all of the sense in the world. Williams also reportedly had a great top 30 visit with Chicago, which likely solidifies him going there as the No. 1 overall pick.

The Commanders are the wild card team in the top-three picks. Jayden Daniels matches them better offensively, but Drake Maye might have the highest ceiling of the quarterback prospects. The Commanders stick with the right fit in this mock draft in hopes that Daniels can take Kliff Kingsbury’s offense to the next level.
