Tight end is certainly a need that the Colts could address. This is a position that didn’t contribute much to the passing game last season, not to mention that Mo Alie-Cox, a key blocker in this offense, is entering the final year of his deal. But will the opportunity be there for the Colts to add to this position? That could be challenging. Relatively speaking, the Colts don’t have many draft picks, with only seven – only four teams have fewer – and there are more pressing needs to tackle, including receiver, edge rusher, cornerback, and safety. On top of that, this is only a so-so class at the tight end position, so when it comes to maximizing value when the Colts are on the clock, the chance to do so with a tight end selection may not be a prudent move.
