Nebraska to consider naming building after football coach Tom Osborne

Nebraska’s Board of Regents is considering a proposal to name the school’s new football building after legendary coach Tom Osborne. The Go Big Project was a $165 million construction project to create a state-of-the-art 315,000-square-foot facility.

The Football Performance Center holds a cutting-edge Athletic Medicine Area, Strength Complex, Equipment Room, Locker Room, Football Offices, Meeting Spaces, and room for future expansion.

The Regents are currently considering a proposal to rename the building the Hall of Fame football coach. The building would be renamed the Osborne Legacy Complex, according to 247Sports.

Osborne coached at Nebraska for 25 seasons, from 1973-1998, and would finish with a record of 255-49-3. He would win 13 conference championships and three national championships as a head coach.

The Board of Regents will consider the proposal at their next meeting on April 19.
