Brandon Aiyuk’s agent denies WR requested trade from 49ers

On Sunday morning, rumors began to swirl on social media about a potential trade request coming from San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

However, Aiyuk’s agent, Ryan Williams, quickly chimed in on Twitter to refute the rumors. Williams quote-tweeted one of the accounts claiming that a trade request had been made, and his reply was brief —  “You need better sources.”

With Aiyuk entering the final year of his rookie contract, his name has been at the center of rumors and chatter throughout the offseason. Fueling the buzz about a potential trade, Aiyuk has posted some cryptic messages since the 49ers’ loss in the Super Bowl, along with unfollowing the 49ers on Instagram.

Aiyuk was selected out of Arizona State in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. In four seasons, he has 269 catches for 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns. He is coming off a career-high 1,342 yards last season. Aiyuk added seven touchdowns and was named second-team All-Pro.
