Brian Kelly says Bo Davis, Raymond recruiting key to defensive rebuild

Corey Raymond and Bo Davis have only been at LSU a few months, but LSU head coach Brian Kelly said he’s already seeing the impact the two are making on the recruiting trail.

After the spring game, Kelly talked about the process of rebuilding the defense and offered some insight into what he’s seen so far.

“The long approach to this is just look who’s on campus, who we’re recruiting. I’ve had a lot of players in front of me over the last three months since we’ve hired those two. That’s a really good thing,” Kelly said.

Raymond and Davis might be new to Kelly’s staff, but they’re no strangers to LSU or the state of Louisiana. Both have made previous stops at LSU under Les Miles and Nick Saban, respectively.

Both additions were a crucial part of Kelly’s defensive overhaul that will feature an entirely new on-field coaching staff, headlined by new defensive coordinator Blake Baker.
