The Oklahoma Sooners have a nice top trio of players in Billy Bowman, Robert Spears-Jennings, and Peyton Bowen that will rival any safety group in the country when 2024 is all said and done. However, beyond that, there’s very little experience.

Oklahoma has a nice group of players in redshirt freshman Erik McCarty and true freshmen Michael Boganowski, Jaydan Hardy, Reggie Powers, and Mykel Patterson-McDonald. Woodi Washington could see time at safety and so could Kendal Dolby. However, both of those veterans split time at other positions too. If Oklahoma feels they could use one more experienced piece on the back end, then safety could be a position that makes sense for depth purposes.
