Transfer portal players Colorado, Deion Sanders could land next

Despite losing some talent to the transfer portal in recent days, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders is justifiably confident that reinforcements are coming.

The Buffs are hosting several of the country’s top uncommitted transfers this weekend, including multiple high-priority linebackers, and other available transfers are expected to check out Colorado’s spring game on April 27. Previous school: Charlotte

Considering how much help Colorado needs at linebacker, landing Nikhai Hill-Green would be huge for coordinator Robert Livingston’s defense. After beginning his college career at Michigan, the 6-foot-2, 232-pound LB totaled 73 tackles, nine TFLs and three passes defended this past season for the 49ers.

Offensive lineman Payton Kirkland (Committed to Colorado on April 21)

Previous school: Texas

Another transfer visiting Boulder this weekend, Payton Kirkland is a former four-star prospect who played his first college season at Texas. New Colorado offensive line coach Phil Loadholt is still looking for depth and Kirkland would provide just that and possibly more.

Linebacker Elijah Herring

Previous school: Tennessee

Elijah Herring entered the transfer portal on Monday and some are considering Colorado the early favorite to land the former Tennessee linebacker. As a sophomore with the Vols, he racked up 80 total tackles while starting 11 games at middle linebacker.

Running back Dallan Hayden (Committed to Colorado on April 22)
