Breaking down Jets’ picks in Chad Reuter’s 7-round mock

A mock that doesn’t have a wide receiver or Brock Bowers to the Jets? It sounds crazy but most of the top options were off the board before the Jets got on the clock. Marvin Harrison went to the Chargers at No. 5, Rome Odunze was selected No. 6 by the Cardinals (the Giants traded up to No. 4 for J.J. McCarthy) and the Colts traded up to No. 9 to nab Brock Bowers.

So in this case, the Jets pivot to the offensive line and select JC Latham of Alabama as they had their pick of the litter of everyone except Joe Alt (No. 7 to Titans).

“Yes, the Jets signed veteran left tackle Tyron Smith and traded for right tackle Morgan Moses this offseason. But both are 33 years old, coming off injuries and only under contract through next season. Latham’s ability to get movement in the run game, and widen his base against edge rushers in pass pro, could make him the top lineman from this class three years down the line.”
