St. Louis Battlehawks Sign Nico Bolden, Release Channing Stribling

The St. Louis Battlehawks made a change to their secondary. Nico Bolden has re-signed with the team, and Channing Stribling – the former All-USFL CB, has been let go.

Stribling was picked up by St. Louis prior to the season beginning. He was originally with the Birmingham Stallions in training camp, but was let go.

With the Battlehawks, Channing did not play exactly up to the standard that was set for him with the Philadelphia Stars. He posted five tackles over the past few games, but posted a poor PFF grade of 28.0.

Now, Nico Bolden returns to St. Louis. Bolden was with the Battlehawks in Training Camp, and was let go during the final set of cutdowns.

In college, Nico Bolden was a tackling machine. During his collegiate career, he played for New Mexico from 2018-2020. There, he posted 47 tackles in 22 games, making one start.

However, once Bolden transferred to Kent State, he broke out as a star. Nico registered 189 tackles in just two seasons, alongside a sack and two interceptions.

As a young prospect who clearly has quite a bit of talent, it’ll be interesting to see how he fits into Donnie Abraham’s defense moving forward.
