Top 300 draft prospect list includes 6 Tigers

The NFL Draft is just over 24 hours away from kicking off. With that in mind, Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports released his Top Prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. The list comprises the top 300 prospects in terms of rankings, not necessarily how he thinks the players will be drafted.

Clemson had ten players declare for the draft following the 2023-24 season, but only 6 made the cut. Easterling ranks five Tiger’s in the top 200 and another in the bottom third.

Nate Wiggins is the favorite to be the first pick of the group across multiple outlets. So it’s no surprise that he ranks first in this list as well. Wiggins is ranked the fourth-best Cornerback prospect according to Athlon Sports, placing behind Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo), Terrion Arnold (Alabama), and Cooper DeJean (Iowa).

Defensive linemen Ruke Orhorhoro and Tyler Davis join Wiggins with running back Will Shipley, linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr., and Edge Xavier Thomas. Here’s how they ranked:

Career Stats: 60 Tackles, 49 Solo, 3 TFL, 1 Sacks, 24 PD, 3 INT, 2 TDs

Per his NFL scouting profile:

Silky smooth lower-body movement allows him to mirror releases and trace routes without much effort. He can squeeze a little tighter from off-man coverage, while his range as a Cover 3 cornerback makes him a dangerous option to throw near. He plays with good recognition and elite burst to the throw, which could lead to Pro Bowl production if he can play with more consistent decisiveness. He needs to become a tougher player in run support and when contesting catches against NFL size. Wiggins’ speed, scheme versatility and playmaking instincts should make him the most sought after cornerback in the draft.
