DURHAM – Former Duke offensive lineman Jacob Monk was selected in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

Monk was the 163rd overall pick in the draft, and the 28th selection in the fifth round.

Monk, a 6-3, 320-pound Clayton, N.C., product is Duke’s third 2024 NFL Draft selection as teammates Graham Barton and DeWayne Carter went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (26th overall pick) and Buffalo Bills (95th overall pick), respectively. This marks the first time since 2021 that the Blue Devils have had three draft picks in the same year, and the 26th time in program history with three-plus selections. Monk joins Barton as Duke’s first offensive linemen chosen since Laken Tomlinson went in the first round to the Detroit Lions in 2015. He is also the seventh Duke draft pick by the Packers and the first since Anthony Dilweg was a third-round choice in 1989.

A two-time team captain and three-time All-ACC recipient, Monk helped Duke to 27 wins and two bowl game victories (2022 Military and 2023 Birmingham) during his tenure. He played in 59 career games with 58 starts at guard, tackle and center and was on the field for 3,777 career snaps. He started 44 consecutive contests along the offensive line to begin his Blue Devil tenure and was the recipient of the team’s K.D. Kennedy Iron Devil Award in 2023.
