Sirmon 1 Of 3 Golden Bears Team To Join NFL Rosters On Saturday
Former California inside linebacker Jackson Sirmon will sign an undrafted free agent contract with the New York Jets according to Sirmon.
Sirmon was one of three players from Cal’s 2023 team to have been added to an NFL roster on Saturday and the second as an undrafted free agent along with offensive lineman Matthew Cindric (Minnesota Vikings)
Patrick McMorris was selected Saturday in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins with the 198th pick overall. Cal has now had at least one player taken in the NFL Draft in 36 of the last 38 years and 81 of 89 overall since the first NFL Draft in 1936. McMorris was the 247th Cal player selected in the history of the NFL Draft and the Golden Bears’ 255th pick in either the NFL or AFL Draft, with eight players taken in the latter that ran from 1960-69.

– Clocked a 4.26 in the 20-yard shuttle at Cal’s 2024 Pro Day that would have been the third-best among inside linebackers at the 2024 NFL Combine, while he was also solid in both the vertical jump (34′ 0″) and broad jump (9’11”) with marks that would have been in the middle of the pack among linebackers at the combine, and added to his resume and NFL value by long snapping
