Monday was an eventful day for Auburn football in terms of recruiting.
The Tigers lost three-star tight end commitment Hollis Davidson on Monday afternoon. Davidson committed to Auburn on Feb. 6 but felt he pledged too soon and ultimately elected to re-open his recruitment.
The disappointment was short-lived, however. Four-star linebacker Tyler Lockhart surprised Auburn fans by announcing his commitment to the Tigers late Monday evening. Lockhart’s commitment boosts Auburn’s 2025 as he becomes the fourth-highest-rated commit for the class, trailing DL Malik Autry, EDGE Jakaleb Faulk, and DL Jourdin Crawford.
Lockhart, a 6-3, 200-pound linebacker from Winona, Mississippi, is the No. 4 prospect from Mississippi and is the No. 16 overall linebacker from the 2025 class. He is the 10th commitment to Auburn’s 2025 haul and is the lone linebacker in the class.
How does Lockhart’s commitment affect Auburn’s recruiting ranking? Here’s a look at the latest SEC recruiting rankings from 247Sports following Lockhart’s commitment to the Tigers.
