Route Running
Tetairoa McMillan brings some clean route running to the table, and he uses it to get open in a variety of ways. In the Colorado game specifically, he used his route running to get him just enough open in small windows for his quarterback to find him. Now, the throw isn’t always accurate, but he was working himself open against other NFL talents in Travis Hunter and Shilo Sanders.
Separation
Great footwork, smooth hips, and the speed to separate against anyone who lines up across from him. It is worth noting, for his size, that separating shouldn’t be as easy as he makes it. Altogether, this, with the route running, makes him a great NFL prospect and worthy of being in the top tier of recent wide receivers to enter the league.
YAC Ability
There is one play specifically when watching him that was against Mississippi State, where it was almost what the NFL runs at the scouting combine. McMillan was running across the field like the gauntlet that prospects run, and he makes the catch and turns upfield effortlessly and goes to the house. That was the best NFL-caliber play I saw him make through three games, and it shows his YAC ability.
