The Cleveland Browns, an 11-win team from a year ago, enter the 2024 season running back a carbon copy of their roster from a year ago with a few new contributors and rookies added. For the most part, however, the bulk of their efforts in free agency were spent on retaining their own talent like defensive end Za’Darius Smith and defensive tackles Maurice Hurst and Shelby Harris.
Will this lead to another 11-win season again in 2024? A year ago, the Browns won despite their quarterback situation. This year, they will need to win because of their quarterback situation. Getting back running back Nick Chubb, who suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2 a year ago, sooner rather than later would be a massive boost to their lineup as well.
Currently, however, how are the Browns viewed by the betting companies supplying the odds? How many wins does ESPN Bet think the Browns will squeeze out this season as the look to get back to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since returning to the NFL in 1999?
