All-time Iowa candidates for EA Sports College Football 25 cover

For the first time since 2013, college football will be featured in its own video game. For years college football fans begged and pleaded for a return of their favorite game.

That feeling was heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic, with football fans rediscovering their love for college football video games. EA Sports’ NCAA 14 became one of the hottest sports games out there in 2022, with fans gathering to watch streams and YouTube videos of this near-decade old video game.

With the cries for a return of the NCAA series amplified by the pandemic, and the opportunity arising due to NIL, EA finally did the thing. We see Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Colorado star Travis Hunter, Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, and Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins on the cover. We certainly are in a new era. There’s even a Tigerhawk flag in the background if you look closely enough.

This has me thinking, what would an Iowa version of the cover look like? If you could pick any Hawkeye from the history of the program to represent the school on the cover for the first game in a decade, who would it be? Here are the five best options.
