In addition to signing four players – draft picks Jalyx Hunt, Will Shipley, and Ainias Smith, and rookie minicamp tryout Shon Stephens – on Monday, the Eagles also released tight end Noah Togiai.
Originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Eagles in 2020, Togiai saw his most playing time with the Indianapolis Colts in his rookie campaign when he suited up in four games (72 snaps on offense). Since, he’s played in four games over the past three seasons with the Eagles, most recently getting snaps on offense and special teams in the win over Buffalo last year.
A product of Oregon State, Togiai finished with 102 receptions for 1,048 yards and 10 touchdowns in 44 games over five seasons. He was the sixth tight end in school history to surpass the 1,000-yard receiving mark.
The Eagles currently have six tight ends on the roster led by Dallas Goedert. Veteran C.J. Uzomah signed in free agency, while McCallan Castles was added as a rookie free agent.
