Miami set to play in 5 prime-time games

The Miami Dolphins were one of the greatest shows in the NFL last season with the league’s No. 1 offense and a host of star players, including Tyreek Hill, Jalen Ramsey, and Jaylen Waddle. So it’s no surprise that the NFL has made sure plenty of eyeballs will be fixed on the Dolphins in the 2024 season.

When the league released its full schedule of 2024 games Wednesday night, the Dolphins were featured in five prime-time matchups.

That number isn’t finalized. It’s possible that flex scheduling will move one of Miami’s games to an afternoon slot if circumstances change and the NFL decides another game is more exciting. It’s also possible that the Dolphins are under the lights for a sixth time if the league chooses to flex Miami into the spotlight again.

For now, though, here are the five prime-time games on the Dolphins’ 2024 schedule:

A day ahead of the schedule release, Amazon announced that the rematch of the de facto AFC East championship game will be the first Thursday Night Football broadcast of the 2024 season.

The Dolphins were stunned by the Titans in the 2023, allowing two touchdowns in the last three minutes of the game to hand Tennessee a 28-27 win on a Monday night. So they’re running it back in 2024 under similar circumstances. The Titans will again travel to Miami for a Monday Night Football game.

The Dolphins got a win at SoFi Stadium against the Chargers in 2023. A year later, they’ll be under the Hollywood lights for a Monday night game against the Rams.

Not only will the Dolphins play on Thanksgiving for the first time since 2011, they’ll also be in the last game of the night, leaving plenty of time for turkey and pie before kickoff.

It wouldn’t be a shock if the Sunday night contest against the Browns is flexed. Contenders come and go, and it’s anyone’s guess who will be in the mix after Christmas. Even if the Dolphins and Browns both prove to be contenders, there could be another game in Week 17 with higher stakes on the line.
