First two selections of 2024 NFL Draft: DT Byron Murphy II, Texas (No. 16 overall), G Christian Haynes, UConn (81)

The NFL’s two Byron Murphys will play one another.

Seattle drafted Byron Murphy II this spring, and the Vikings are returning cornerback Byron Murphy, Jr. The two are unrelated, but it could cause for some interesting challenges for the broadcast crew.

Perhaps even more notable, though, is that Minnesota will face a Seahawks squad not led by Pete Carroll for the first time November 2009 (Carroll took the helm in 2010), which was the last time Minnesota won at Seattle.

Macdonald most recently served as the Ravens defensive coordinator from 2022-23.
