Nahshon Wright may go down as the most shocking Cowboys draft pick in the last decade. The slender Oregon State boundary corner was regarded as many as a late Day 3 pick before the draft. Dallas drafted him in the top-100.
His traits and overall build have limited his ability to cover in-braking routes, making him a situational player tied primarily to single high coverage looks.
With Mike Zimmer on board, more will be needed from Wright to justify a roster spot. Zimmer mixes in 2-high safety looks frequently and has no personal ties keeping him loyal to Wright. Entering the last year on his deal, Wright will have to fight an uphill battle to justify a place on the team again in 2024.
