The Seattle Seahawks were never more than a game away from making the NFL playoffs during the Pete Carroll era. While it’s been a minute since they had a legitimate chance of making the conference title game, that kind of consistency over 14 years is extremely rare at this level. Looking ahead, new head coach Mike Macdonald might have a hard time matching that playoff-caliber consistency, at least at the outset. Projections for this coming season have mostly been on the negative side coming from national media and many analysts seem to think they won’t win more than eight games.
