Speed
Someone with track experience and success like Barion Brown is expected to be fast, but what impresses him most is his ability to do it with pads on. Kentucky and their offense couldāve been so much more, but quarterback play and scheming held them back. Brown was used to getting the ball in his hands as often as possible, including returns, and when they could, that speed killed opponents.
YAC Ability
Just like having a track background doesnāt make you fast, being fast doesnāt mean you have YAC ability. Once again, Brown shows that he does by pairing his elite speed with decent vision to find holes in the defense. He is very much like a microwave in the sense that as soon as he catches the ball as a receiver or return man, he can take off and score.
Contested Catches
For someone with the light frame and size of Brown, the idea of making contested catches can seem rare, but he can surprise you. He doesnāt skyover defenders or control it through contact all that well, but he remains concentrated on the ball in every play. That concentration is something that will get him to win reps at the next level and for right now it makes me a believer in him.
