Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is known for his fierce competitiveness — and that extends off the football field.

Tight end Cole Kmet raved about Williams’ competitiveness when recounting a story from the other night when the pair, along with some other teammates, were at Top Golf for some off-the-field bonding. They were there until about 1 a.m. because Williams wanted to finish the game.

“You realize how competitive he is,” Kmet said.

Eventually, Kmet and quarterback Brett Rypien, who are both strong golfers, came away the winners. Still, Kmet has been impressed with what he’s seen from Williams so far.

“He wants to be remembered for a very long time,” Kmet said. “So, I think he’s ready for this opportunity. He just has the demeanor about him that you have to have, feeling like he can succeed here for sure.”
