A day that much of Cowboys Nation thought they’d spend waiting on news of an imminent CeeDee Lamb contract development turned into something else entirely. All eyes will be on whether CeeDee Lamb reports for mandatory minicamp, which starts on Tuesday. The receiver could face a fine of close to $100,000 if he skips every day. Lamb has been working out on his own and has had a few throwing sessions with Dak Prescott. The Cowboys say they’re not worried about his absence hurting his production when the season starts.
Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson, widely considered the top receiver in the game by peers, media, and fans alike, reached an agreement for four years and $140 million, $110 million of it guaranteed. The $35 million annual average makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history, and it nearly doubles what Lamb is currently set to earn. Dallas observers are waiting to see if that deal spurs movement within the Dallas front office to come to terms with Lamb on a similarly lucrative extension… and whether or not Lamb shows up for the mandatory minicamp session that begins on Tuesday.
