Chiefs fans extend prayers for B.J. Thompson after medical emergency

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker B.J. Thompson reportedly suffered a seizure and cardiac arrest during meetings at organized team activities on Thursday.

News broke about Thompson’s scary emergency when the Chiefs cancelled practice, and reporters at the team’s facilities in Kansas City were made aware of the linebacker’s condition.

Thompson, who the Chiefs picked in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft, is said to be recovering well after the incident and seems set to make a full recovery according to comments from Rick Burkholder, who is Kansas City’s vice president of sports medicine and performance.

The Chiefs extended their thoughts and prayers to Thompson in a social media post on Friday, wishing him a speedy recovery.

The team’s fans quickly piled on the well-wishes for Kansas City’s second-year defender and also gave credit to the Chiefs’ medical staff, who responded swiftly to the emergency.
