Ryan Yaites has joined Cal’s 2024 spring transfer portal signing class.
List Of 2024 Recruits Now Stands At 41
The California football team announced the addition of defensive back Ryan Yaites (LSU) Friday to increase the number of players in the 2024 recruiting class to 41, including 24 transfers and 17 coming to Cal directly from high schools.
Cal is currently ranked as high as No. 16 in the 2024 spring transfer portal rankings according to On3 Sports with the Golden Bears’ 24 incoming transfers tied for the seventh-most in the nation.

Ryan Yaites – DB – 6-1 – 200 – So. – 2nd – Denton, TX (LSU/John H. Guyer HS)
– Played in 13 games, all off the bench, as a 2023 freshman at LSU, contributing 16 tackles and one pass breakup for a team that finished 10-4 overall, 6-2 in the SEC and was a 35-31 winner over Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Day while being ranked No. 13 in the final AP Top 25
– Earned Under Armour All-American honors as a 2022 prep senior at John H. Guyer HS when he accounted for 63 tackles, 11 pass breakups and two interceptions for a team that was 14-1 overall, 7-0 in 6A Region I District 5 games to win a district title and reached the semifinals of the Texas 6A D2 state playoffs
– Listed as high as the No. 19 safety in the 2024 transfer portal rankings, while he is the No. 67 player overall according to Rivals
Cal opens the 2024 season against UC Davis on Aug. 31 as part of the Bears’ slate in their first season as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
