The Jets revamped their offensive line this offseason with the additions of Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses and John Simpson. But its draft pick Olu Fashanu who may have the biggest chance to shine this week.
Moses and right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker have been dealing with injuries and likely won’t practice this week. The Jets may also limit Smith in an effort to keep him as healthy as possible.
That should continue to open up more reps for Fashanu, who has already gotten some work in, mostly at left tackle, where he is expected to take over by 2025. Other backups could see valuable reps this week as well, including Carter Warren, Max Mitchell and Wes Schweitzer.
If the Jets can turn their biggest weakness from 2023 into a strength, it could go a long way toward them reaching the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season.
