All eyes were on rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels as the Washington Commanders opened minicamp on Tuesday. That’s the life of a rookie quarterback.
It’s only been around six weeks since the Commanders drafted Daniels at No. 2 overall, but he’s earned the respect of his teammates. Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen and guard Nick Allegretti have both said they arrive at the building very early, but Daniels always beats them. That’s impressive to veteran players.
Star wide receiver Terry McLaurin praised Daniels on Tuesday. So, while head coach Dan Quinn hasn’t named Daniels the starting quarterback yet, he’ll be under center in Week 1, barring unforeseen circumstances.
