With just a few days to go until the UFL Championship, the San Antonio Brahmas have signed WR Tavonn Salter. This signing was made with Landen Akers being moved to the suspended list, as first reported by Matty Fresh.
The @XFLBrahmas are signing WR Tavonn Salter, source confirms (as posted by @MattyFreshTV).
Salter has plenty of experience in OC A.J. Smith’s system, having played in The Spring League & in the XFL with the Houston Roughnecks together. #UFL https://t.co/u07bf0oUAT pic.twitter.com/xoNKKbHQlo

Landen Akers has been a depth piece for San Antonio all year long, but has performed incredibly well when his name has been called upon. He will be missed in the Championship.
In his place, the Brahmas have added WR Tavonn Salter. He was with the Houston Roughnecks during the 2023 XFL season, playing in three games. Salter caught four passes for 47 yards last year.

Tavonn is very familiar with OC A.J. Smith’s system. They were together in The Spring League in 2021 with the Conquerors, where Salter caught 16 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns. Now, he’ll have an opportunity to potentially play in a Championship game in the UFL.
Matt Seybert Debacle
Originally, the Brahmas were going to sign TE Matt Seybert to the roster, to get back to two tight ends. Seybert played with the Pittsburgh Maulers for two seasons in the USFL, and had worked with A.J. Smith before in The Spring League.

SA planned to sign TE Matt Seybert. However, a source close to the team says the deal never went through due to a league ruling on personnel
