Tennessee’s football opponents in 2024 ranked from worst to first

The 2024 football season will be the fourth for Tennessee under head coach Josh Heupel

The Vols will kick off its 2024 campaign on Aug. 31 versus Chattanooga at Neyland Stadium (12:45 p.m. EDT, SEC Network). Tennessee’s other non-conference games are against North Carolina State, Kent State and UTEP.

Tennessee’s home schedule in 2024 for Southeastern Conference games are against Florida, Alabama, Kentucky and Mississippi State.

The Vols’ road SEC schedule features contests at Oklahoma, Arkansas, Georgia and Vanderbilt.

ESPN released Football Power Index rankings ahead of the upcoming season. FPI measures a team’s true strength on a net points scale and expected point margin versus average opponent on a neutral field.

Tennessee’s opponents during the regular-season are ranked below based on ESPN’s FPI. Chattanooga is a FCS opponent and is not ranked.
