The 2025 recruiting class is stacked with talent at every position group, including running back. The position has quickly become undervalued at the NFL level, but it remains vital to every collegiate program. That is especially true as modern-day offenses continue to evolve and need consistency and versatility in the backfield.
With Mike Elko set to make his Texas A&M head coaching debut on Aug. 31 against Notre Dame, the spring football period proved several position groups, including running back, are extremely deep. That depth provides Elko with a solid starting point and plenty of options. In the RB room, the potential three-headed-monster of Amari Daniels, Le’Veon Moss and Rueben Owens could do major damage in the SEC for new offensive coordinator Collin Klein.
In the 2025 recruiting class, Elko has landed a commitment from rising four-star running back Deondre “Tiger” Riden out of DeSoto, Texas. As the only running back commit in the cycle, Riden possesses the skill set of a five-star prospect and has a solid chance of rising after his final senior season. According to On3, here are the top 10 committed running backs in the 2025 cycle.
