Penn State has been working hard to establish a steady flow of productive defensive ends over the years, and the 2024 season should see some big things to come from Dani Dennis-Sutton on one edge and converted linebacker Abdul Carter off the other. And the future of the position looks to be in solid shape as well with continued recruiting efforts. The Class of 2025 got a boost on the edge with a commitment from four-star edge rusher Cortez Harris out of Maryland following an official visit to Penn State’s campus.
Harris has been on Penn State’s radar for a while, which should be expected given he is one of the top players in the state of Maryland. Penn State makes every effort to not only secure the best talent in Pennsylvania but also in its neighboring states like Maryland and New Jersey. Pulling a talented edge rusher away from in-state Maryland and holding off a strong recruiting effort by Tennessee is a nice recruiting victory for James Franklin, defensive coordinator Tom Allen, and the Nittany Lions.
Here is a look at one of Penn State’s Class of 2025 commitments.
