Penn State seemed to be in a bit of an uphill battle to secure a commitment from four-star edge rusher and linebacker combo Max Granville. The Texas native was considered by many in the recruiting industry to be a decent Oklahoma lean with Texas A&M strongly in the running as well, but Penn State prevailed against most odds to add Granville to a loaded Class of 2025 recruiting haul.
Granville is a player that can excel at multiple positions, notably linebacker and defensive end, so he could come to Penn State with some flexibility to take advantage of under new defensive coordinator Tom Allen. While the rankings reflected below are his national rankings as a linebacker, some believe he will end up playing edge for the Nittany Lions. Either way, Penn State has a player to look forward to in the years to come.
Here is a look at one of Penn State’s top defensive commitments in the Class of 2025.
