Arm Strength
Conner Weigman doesn’t flash the ability to push the ball down the field often, but he possesses the ability. Where his arm strength shows itself is when he is tasked with fitting balls into tight windows or when he makes a throw when hit. The Texas A&M offensive line didn’t do him many favors, so that arm strength was forced to make a lot of throws while taking a hit.
Ball Placement
The ball placement that Weigman uses with his receivers allows them to constantly pick up extra yards. Whether it be on a fade in the endzone, a slant across the middle, or a route downfield, he can hit them in the hands and in stride. Its a simple trait to have but it is an undervalued one at the same time, Weigman having it gives him an advantage over others in the class.
Mobility
A quarterback’s mobility can be as simple as maneuvering the pocket like Tom Brady so elegantly did, or he can be mobile enough to pick up yards. Weigman reminds me of Ben Roethlisberger in that he has no issues putting his head down to pick up a first down or score. Younger Roethlisberger had this as one of his better traits and we saw what it did to him down the stretch of his career though.
