The Washington Commanders have a rich history of productive wide receivers. Whether it was “The Fun Bunch” or “The Posse,” some of Washington’s greatest teams have had multiple productive receivers.
When he retired after the 1995 season, Art Monk was the NFL’s second-leading receiver of all time. That has since been surpassed, but somehow, foolishly, Monk had to wait until 2008 to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame. During Monk’s time in Washington, he partnered with Gary Clark and Ricky Sanders to form “The Posse,” one of the greatest trios of wide receivers of all time.
As you might expect, Monk, Clark and Sanders are among the top receivers in franchise history. In addition to that trio, Washington has two more Pro Football Hall of Famers among its top receivers.
Where does current star Terry McLaurin rank in franchise history? McLaurin has four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and has played with different quarterbacks in each of his five career seasons.
Here’s a look at how the top 11 stands as of now.
