Detroit Lions offseason questions: Position group to watch


OTAs and minicamp gave us a glimpse at what the Detroit Lions’ starting roster will look like in the fall, but training camp is where most jobs and roles are won and lost.

Which position battle are you looking forward to most? I asked the Detroitlions.com crew, and here’s what they had to say:

Tim Twentyman: Secondary

The battles for starting jobs, playing roles and roster spots in the secondary are going to be really fun to watch. Carlton Davis III, Terrion Arnold, Brian Branch, Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Amik Robertson, Emmanuel Moseley, Kindle Vildor and others are all in the mix for three starting spots and a couple rotational roles.

Could Branch play more safety in 2024 and make that a competition to watch with Kerby Joseph and Ifeatu Melifonwu? I think it will be really interesting to see how the competition in the back end of Detroit’s defense plays out.
