Right now, the Pittsburgh Steelers have no quarterbacks signed for the 2025 season. The Steelers added Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen but they are all on one-year deals. We are sure the Steelers hope they can sign either Wilson or Fields to a contract extension but even if they do, adding a quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft makes a lot of sense.
The Steelers last used a first-round pick on a quarterback in 2022 when they selected Kenny Pickett. He only lasted two years and was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason. This on its own was an admission that the Pickett selection was a mistake but going after a quarterback in 2025 is just a good piece of planning for the future.
