The 2024 Big Ten football season draws closer and closer. Less than two months remain before the college football season kicks off in Dublin, Ireland with Florida State vs. Georgia Tech, and less than two months remain before the first Big Ten matchup: North Carolina at Minnesota on Thursday, August 29.
Much has been written about the sport’s changes entering this season. The SEC expanded with the additions of Texas and Oklahoma, and the Big Ten countered by adding former Pac-12 powers USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington.

These new conference dynamics should reignite the year-in, year-out tradition of arguing which conference runs the sport. If the Big Ten gets dominant years from Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, USC and Michigan, it could have an argument.
The new dynamic also sees the infusion of new identities, play-styles and histories into the Big Ten. Part of those identities mentioned are the new members’ venues and gameday experiences. West Coast football will now meet traditional Midwest football on a weekly basis, in every sense of the term.
With those four schools set to kick off the 2024 football season as Big Ten members, it’s time for an updated look at conference’s stadium power rankings:
