The Eagles will enter Training Camp with six tight ends on the roster in a room that will be led once again by Dallas Goedert. Goedert, entering his seventh season, is coming off of a season in which he recorded career highs in receptions (59) and snaps (809) despite missing three games with an injury. His ability to stretch the field has made him a threat in the offense, as well as a solid blocker with great size and strength in the running game.
The Eagles retained and added a plethora of depth behind Goedert, signing C.J. Uzomah and undrafted free agent McCallan Castles. Grant Calcaterra is set to enter Year 3 with the team after appearing in 118 offensive snaps and a career-high 155 special team snaps in 2023. Calcaterra averaged 9.8 yards per catch on four receptions for 39 yards, and brings athleticism at 6-foot-4, 240-pounds.
Albert Okwuegbunam was signed to a one-year contract in February after coming to the team from Denver in August of 2023. At 6-foot-5, 258-pounds, Okwuegbunam has the size and ability to be an option and provide depth entering Year 2 with the Eagles. E.J. Jenkins and McCallan Castles are young and hungry players that will be looking to try and show their potential and earn a roster spot in Training Camp.
Veteran C.J. Uzomah was signed to a one-year deal after seeing time in 12 games with the New York Jets in 2023. Uzomah will provide a great deal of experience to a relatively young tight end room upon entering his 10th season. The 31-year-old will give the Eagles another strong blocker that can help aid the running and passing game.
New to the Nest: Rookie McCallan Castles tallied 22 receptions for 283 yards and five touchdowns in one season at Tennessee. E.J. Jenkins returned to the Eagles on a futures contract after spending time on the Raiders practice squad. C.J. Uzomah totaled 29 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons with the Jets.

“It’s the culture, the fans, and everything about this team and organization that I have observed as a bystander over the years.” – tight end C.J. Uzomah
