Iowa football among final pair of schools for 2025 WR Terrence Smith

The Iowa Hawkeyes are one of the final two schools in the mix for class of 2025 wide receiver Terrence Smith.

A 6-foot-4, 185-pound wide receiver out of West Aurora High School in Illinois, Smith is reportedly down to Iowa and Minnesota. On3’s Steve Wiltfong broke the news that it’s officially a Big Ten battle and that Smith will decide between the Hawkeyes and Gophers.

Smith caught 59 passes for 906 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. In his West Aurora career, Smith has reeled in 95 receptions for 1,535 yards and 17 touchdowns.

According to On3, Smith is a four-star recruit. On3 ranks Smith as the nation’s No. 170 player overall, the No. 25 wide receiver and the No. 7 player from Illinois in the 2025 class.

ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals each rate Smith as a three-star prospect. Per ESPN, Smith is the nation’s No. 94 wide receiver and the No. 15 player from Illinois. 247Sports ranks Smith as the nation’s No. 96 wide receiver and as the No. 14 player from Illinois. Lastly, Rivals rates Smith as the No. 100 wide receiver and as the No. 17 player from Illinois.

Smith visited Iowa on June 21.
