The Miami Dolphins made a point to upgrade at linebacker in the last two offseasons. First, they signed David Long Jr., who recorded 113 tackles, one sack, and nine tackles for loss (all career highs) in his first season with the team. Then this offseason, they swapped out stalwart Jerome Baker for former Seattle Seahawks first-round pick Jordyn Brooks.
But was that substitution in the Dolphins linebacking corps an upgrade or did the unit get worse this year? That question was answered by ESPN’s Mike Clay who used a formula to grade and sort every position unit heading into the 2024 season.
